We drove 6 hours in order for my surgeon to have the experience of Dr. Kennedy. From beginning to end, I was extremely pleased with my care and how professional everyone on the team was. Dr. Kennedy is such a kind and caring surgeon that went way beyond what was expected. I am so very happy I made the decision to go all the way to Atlanta, it was well worth it!

I’m so thankful to have found Dr. Kennedy who removed a parathyroid gland. What a great doctor & practice! I highly recommend him.

I had a wonderful experience with DeKalb Surgical Associates. There seems to be a lot of confusing and conflicting information out there among medical professionals concerning hyperparathyroidism, and DeKalb Surgical Associates did an excellent job of explaining everything in great detail and answering any and all questions I had, as well as making me feel confident and comfortable with trusting them for my surgery. The entire process was well managed and I felt that they were very attentive to my needs as far as scheduling my consultation and surgery, since I was coming from out of town and also had to coordinate child care. Dr. Kennedy is extremely knowledgeable but also kind and compassionate. He was recommended to me by a local friend who is also a doctor. My surgery and recovery went very well and Dr. Kennedy also followed up with me after surgery. I would (and do every chance I get) recommend him and DeKalb Surgical Associates to anyone who needs parathyroid surgery!

Dr. Kennedy saved my life. After countless doctors dismissed my “slightly high” blood calcium level of 10.5 at the age of 47, I researched on my own why I was feeling so horrible 99.9% of the time. I was to the point where I could barely walk some days. I knew something was not right and I had to get to the bottom of it! After finding Dr. Kennedy through researching for experienced (VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE AN EXPERIENCED SURGEON FOR THIS DELICATE SURGERY!) surgeon, I came across Dr. Kennedy. During my first visit, I was greeted by his fabulous nurse who told me that I would be feeling better soon! Finally! I could exhale…it felt good knowing I was going to be in good hands. Upon meeting Dr. Kennedy, he looked over my labs and performed an ultrasound on my neck. It was at that time he scheduled my surgery for the following month. Fast forward one month…my surgery day went smoothly. I was, as Dr. Kennedy suspected during my initial visit, a rare case with four gland hyperplasia. Dr. Kennedy removed 3.5 of my 4 parathyroid glands, leaving the “best” .5 gland to regulate calcium levels and get my body to efficiently regulate my blood calcium levels likely for the first time in my 47 years on this earth! The NEXT DAY I felt BETTER just as Dr. Kennedy’s nurse (I wish I could remember her name, as she is AMAZING, KIND, and INCREDIBLY KNOWLEDGABLE). I have felt better everyday since my surgery and this was 2.5 years ago! There are so many doctors out there who have no idea of what hyperparathyroidism is and the damage it can do to our bodies. If you have even “slightly elevated” blood calcium as an adult, even if you have to travel from a distance, I can’t recommend Dr. Kennedy enough. He, too can SAVE YOUR LIFE. Sincerely, M. Friedman, Smyrna, GA

I am so glad I found Dr. John Kennedy at Dekalb Surgical Associates for my parathyroid surgery! He is top notch, kind, caring, professional and performs his surgery in the manner that the leading parathyroid center in Florida does. His assistant in his office, Anne, could not have been more helpful in making all the arrangements! He is top notch and I have recommended him to other people!

I suffered from Hyperparathyroidism. After searching for a doctor that used a less invasive procedure, I found Dr Kennedy and DeKalb Surgical Associates. My surgery was scheduled the day a hurricane blew through Atlanta. Dr Kennedy and his staff made sure I still had my surgery even though much of Atlanta was without power. My surgery went off without a problem. Dr. Kennedy, his staff and the DeKalb Hospital made it one of the best experiences I could have had. I highly recommend them.

Dr. Kennedy fixed my problems. He is professional, has a friendly bed-side manner, likes to keep his patients in the know, answered all my questions and kept me informed of everything that was happening and going to happen. Dr. Kennedy took my initial information online, had his office contact me immediately, and agreed to take me as his patient, and solved my medical condition. I’m so glad I found you on the web Dr. Kennedy!

I never heard of a parathyroid until I was diagnosed with hyperparathyroidism. I was referred to another doctor who did an allergy test and obviously had no idea what he was talking about because I had done a lot of research and nothing he said jived with what I read. I continued to research on the internet and found Dr. John Kennedy who was touted as one of two of the best surgeon for parathyroid removal in the country. I found Dr. Kennedy to be thorough, caring, explained everything in language I could understand, and I don’t even have a scar. I would highly recommend him and his staff and would not hesitate to go back.

Dr Kennedy saved my life May 2017. I was so sick with parathyroid tumors. I couldn’t walk without assistance and was slowly dying. His staff worked with me from out of state and getting to him for his help. He’s amazing and carrying and the only physician I would trust should I need him in the future. In my opinion you won’t find anyone that cares more about you. He’s amazing to me and he’s the reason I’m alive today. Thank you so much for your help and carrying about me. I’m forever grateful. Sincerely. Sherry Albertson
